I have been an occupational therapist specializing in pedicatrics for the past 26 years. Two years ago I became a certified Dysgraphia Specialist through the Brain-Body Connection series (the Dotterer Method) and am one of three specialists in Arizona. I currently work in the clinic and school settings. I have worked with thousands of children and adolscents over the years. I have used a variety of methods and techniques to improve handwriting, including Handwriting Without Tears, Loops and Groups and CKLA curriculums in addition to visual motor, visual perceptual and motor skills training that can be the underlying cause of poor handwriting and contribute to Dysgraphia. Foundations Developmental House specializes in occupaptional and speech therapy for all abilitites while our sister company The Synergy Dyslexia Center offers diagnosis and treatment of Dyslexia and Dysgraphia. There, we offer the MC2 program, the Logic of English and Orton-Gillinham based methods. The owner, Lynn Carahaly is the Speech Therapist who created the Speech EZ program for Apraxia and has been nationally recognized for her work. In combination, speech and occupational therapy here focus on excellence in determining the best plan of care in conjunction with the families we serve.
